What is Aluminium 6063 Pipes and Tubes?
Aluminium 6063 is a popular alloy known for its excellent formability and corrosion resistance. Pipes and tubes made from this alloy are widely used in architectural, structural, and automotive applications due to their lightweight nature and ability to be easily shaped and welded. They offer good thermal conductivity and are often chosen for projects requiring precise extrusions and intricate designs.
Aluminium 6063 pipes and tubes are a type of extruded aluminum alloy product known for their excellent combination of strength, corrosion resistance, and lightweight properties. These pipes and tubes are typically manufactured through the extrusion process, where a billet of aluminum is forced through a die to produce the desired shape.
One of the key features of Aluminium 6063 pipes is their high level of corrosion resistance, particularly against atmospheric conditions and chemical agents. This makes them suitable for various outdoor and industrial applications where exposure to harsh environments is common. Additionally, Aluminium 6063 exhibits good thermal conductivity, making it useful in heat transfer applications.
These pipes and tubes are widely used in various industries and applications. In construction, Aluminium 6063 tubes find extensive use in architectural framing, window frames, door frames, and curtain walls due to their lightweight nature, durability, and aesthetic appeal. They are also commonly employed in the automotive sector for components such as radiator tubes, air intake systems, and structural components where lightweight materials are essential for fuel efficiency and performance.
Aluminium 6063 pipes and tubes are prevalent in the electrical industry for the fabrication of conductive components, heat sinks, and electrical enclosures due to their excellent electrical conductivity and heat dissipation properties. Additionally, they are utilized in the manufacturing of furniture, sporting equipment, and various consumer goods where lightweight and corrosion-resistant materials are required.

Melting and Casting
Steel and alloying metals are loaded into an electric arc furnace. Once in the furnace, the metal is heated to a specific temperature above its melting point, usually in excess of 2800°F.
Rolling and welding
Aluminum Pipes & Tubes may undergo rolling processes to refine their dimensions and improve surface finish. Welding techniques like TIG or MIG welding are utilized for this process
Cleaning and heating phase
These Pipes & Tubes are subjected to cleaning to remove the dirt. Further, a heat treatment is given to these rolled pipes and tubes to remove the stresses that may occur due to welding and formation processes.
Cold - drawing process
The Pipes & Tubes are coated with oxalic and soap solution. In the cold drawing process, the tube or pipe is drawn over the bench using Die plugs.
Finishing process
The stainless tubes or pipes thus produced will undergo certain testing and quality checks. This process is followed by proper packing and dispatch.
