What Are Inconel Sheets, Plates & Coils?
Inconel Sheets, Plates & Coils are nickel-chromium super-alloy materials known for their exceptional strength and resistance against high temperatures and corrosion environments. Due to these properties they find many applications across industries worldwide.
Inconel Sheets, Plates, and Coils stand out due to their exceptional machinability. Even with its superior strength and toughness, Inconel materials can still be cut using conventional means allowing for precise shaping and fabrication for various applications.
Inconel stands out in terms of corrosion resistance as an ideal material, offering exceptional resistance against oxidation and corrosion even under exposure to acids, salts and high temperature gases, making it perfect for applications where corrosion poses a great deal of concern.
Inconel Sheets, Plates and Coils stand out for their impressive weldability. They can be joined using various techniques like gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) or gas metal arc welding (GMAW) without loss in property properties; making strong and long-term joints.
Inconel Sheets, Plates and Coils have applications across industries including aerospace, chemical processing, marine engineering and gas turbines. Due to their superior strength, corrosion resistance and high-temperature stability they are invaluable components in demanding environments such as these.
Inconel alloy is widely utilized in aerospace for engine components, exhaust systems and structural parts that must withstand high strength and extreme temperatures, such as exhaust systems. Chemical processing facilities also use Inconel due to its corrosion-resistance in reactors, vessels and piping systems.
Inconel alloy is widely utilized in marine engineering applications where saltwater exposure occurs, such as valves, pumps and shafts where corrosion resistance is key. Gas turbines utilize Inconel blades, combustion chambers and other high temperature components made with Inconel for increased reliability and longevities.
Inconel Sheets, Plates and Coils can also be found in many other applications beyond nuclear reactors such as power generation or automotive manufacturing; wherever strength, corrosion resistance and high temperature performance is desired. Their versatility and dependability makes Inconel a suitable material choice in numerous key industries.

Melting and Casting
Steel and alloying metals are loaded into an electric arc furnace. Once in the furnace, the metal is heated to a specific temperature above its melting point, usually in excess of 2800°F.
Forming
Most cast steel is formed by hot rolling—the slab, bloom, or billet is heated and passed through large rollers, stretching out the steel into a longer, thinner form.
Heat Treatment
Heat treatment strengthens rolled steel by recrystallizing the deformed microstructure. Most steel is heat treated by annealing.
Cutting or Machining
Steel is cut to a specified shape and size. The steel can be sheared with circular knives, sawed with high-speed blades, or blanked with punches.
Finishing
Steels can be made with a wide variety of surface finishes. The chosen surface finish is not purely aesthetic. The type of finish is determined by the intended application.
