What Are Duplex Steel Pipes and Tubes?

Duplex steel tubes and pipes are an advanced stainless steel alloy known for its exceptional combination of properties, particularly their dual phase microstructure made up of austenitic and ferritic phases that provides numerous advantages that make these materials sought-after by various industries.

Duplex steel tubes and pipes stand out among their competition due to their exceptional corrosion resistance, thanks to its combination of austenitic and ferritic phases that provides solid protection from chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking (CISCC) and pitting corrosion (PCC). Duplex steel's superior protection makes it suitable for harsh operating conditions - making this material the go-to choice when critical applications in hostile environments arise.

Duplex steel pipes and tubes exhibit exceptional machinability qualities, making fabrication and machining processes simpler and reducing production times and costs. Their balanced composition enables cutting, drilling and shaping operations, which help shorten production cycles while simultaneously increasing manufacturing efficiencies - which makes duplex steel an excellent material choice for intricate designs and precision components.

Duplex Steel Pipes & Tubes

Duplex steel pipes and tubes offer exceptional weldability, making their seamless integration into complex structures or systems possible. Their ability to withstand thermal cycles during welding processes without altering mechanical properties ensures high-quality weld joints suited for construction, repair and maintenance activities across industries - expanding duplex steel's versatility further still.

Duplex steel pipes and tubes find applications across numerous industries. Offshore platforms rely heavily on duplex pipes due to their robust marine environments resistance against corrosion as well as reliable heat transfer mechanisms; additionally heat exchangers integrate duplex tubes for efficient heat transfer within various processes; their reliability makes pressure vessels essential when it comes to containment of hazardous substances; they play vital roles providing strength in demanding environments as structural support elements; moreover duplex steel tubes form key parts in providing necessary strength in demanding environments.

Duplex steel pipes and tubes find applications across an array of industries. Their versatility enables them to serve industries that specialize in oil and gas exploration, production, chemical processing, petrochemical plants, desalination facilities, marine engineering, pulp and paper industries among others, making their excellent performance reliable, strong, and lasting in key environments such as corrosion resistance, strength, durability requirements.

Manufacturing Process Of Duplex Steel Pipes & Tubes

Casting

Melting and Casting

Steel and alloying metals are loaded into an electric arc furnace. Once in the furnace, the metal is heated to a specific temperature above its melting point, usually in excess of 2800°F.

Forming Round Bar

Rolling and welding

Aluminum Pipes & Tubes may undergo rolling processes to refine their dimensions and improve surface finish. Welding techniques like TIG or MIG welding are utilized for this process

Heat Treatment

Cleaning and heating phase

These Pipes & Tubes are subjected to cleaning to remove the dirt. Further, a heat treatment is given to these rolled pipes and tubes to remove the stresses that may occur due to welding and formation processes.

Descaling

Cold - drawing process

The Pipes & Tubes are coated with oxalic and soap solution. In the cold drawing process, the tube or pipe is drawn over the bench using Die plugs.

Cutting Round Bar

Finishing process

The stainless tubes or pipes thus produced will undergo certain testing and quality checks. This process is followed by proper packing and dispatch.
