What Are Hastelloy Pipes & Tubes?
Hastelloy Pipes & Tubes are high-performance alloys known for their exceptional resistance to corrosion, making them ideal for use in demanding environments. One of the key features of Hastelloy Pipes & Tubes is their remarkable corrosion resistance, which surpasses that of many other materials. This resistance extends to both oxidizing and reducing environments, including harsh chemicals and high-temperature conditions.
Due to their high strength and work-hardening properties, Hastelloy pipes and tubes can present some challenges regarding machinability. These alloys necessitate special tools and techniques to machine them successfully. With adequate equipment and expertise, however, Hastelloy pipes and tubes can be machined precisely according to individual application needs for customized uses.
Hastelloy Pipes & Tubes require careful consideration regarding weldability to ensure proper joints. Common welding techniques used with Hastelloy alloys include gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) and gas metal arc welding (GMAW); however preheating may be required before post-weld heat treatment in order to preserve corrosion resistance properties and mechanical properties of Hastelloy components. Proper welding procedures must be implemented if you want your hastelloy components to function seamlessly together.
Hastelloy Pipes & Tubes are utilized across various industries for a multitude of purposes. From constructing chemical reactors and heat exchangers to manufacturing pipelines and valves for transporting highly corrosive fluids, these alloys are indispensable. Moreover, they are integral to offshore drilling equipment, serving in power generation, pollution control, and desalination plants. In ensuring reliability, safety, and longevity, these alloys play a pivotal role in industrial infrastructure worldwide.
Hastelloy Pipes & Tubes find widespread application across industries where corrosion resistance is crucial, including chemical processing, oil and gas refining, pharmaceutical manufacturing and aerospace engineering - these applications being chemical processing, oil & gas refining, pharmaceutical production as well as aerospace engineering among others. Their ability to resist aggressive chemicals at extreme temperatures makes these components indispensable in many of these fields.

Melting and Casting
Steel and alloying metals are loaded into an electric arc furnace. Once in the furnace, the metal is heated to a specific temperature above its melting point, usually in excess of 2800°F.
Rolling and welding
Aluminum Pipes & Tubes may undergo rolling processes to refine their dimensions and improve surface finish. Welding techniques like TIG or MIG welding are utilized for this process
Cleaning and heating phase
These Pipes & Tubes are subjected to cleaning to remove the dirt. Further, a heat treatment is given to these rolled pipes and tubes to remove the stresses that may occur due to welding and formation processes.
Cold - drawing process
The Pipes & Tubes are coated with oxalic and soap solution. In the cold drawing process, the tube or pipe is drawn over the bench using Die plugs.
Finishing process
The stainless tubes or pipes thus produced will undergo certain testing and quality checks. This process is followed by proper packing and dispatch.
