Aluminium 5754 sheets are an aluminum alloy known for its superior corrosion resistance, weldability, and moderate strength properties. Composed primarily of aluminum with magnesium as the key alloying agent, these sheets exhibit an array of desirable attributes suitable for applications across industries.
Aluminium 5754 sheets stand out for their exceptional corrosion resistance in marine environments, which makes them perfect for use in marine structures, shipbuilding projects and offshore installations where saltwater exposure and harsh weather conditions may occur. Furthermore, its resistance to atmospheric corrosion also makes these sheets suitable for exterior architectural trim panels and panels.
Aluminium 5754 sheets stand out for their easy weldability. MIG, TIG and resistance welding techniques can easily join them together allowing complex structures and components to be made, not forgetting corrosion resistance - two features which make aluminium sheets such as these ideal choices when it comes to creating tanks, vessels and other welded structures with longevity in mind.
Aluminium 5754 sheets exhibit moderate strength and good formability despite not being heat treatable alloys, and can easily be formed into different shapes using conventional methods such as bending, stamping and deep drawing. Due to this versatility they make great choice for automotive body panels as well as trailer/truck panels as well as components for railway rolling stock components.

Melting and Casting
Steel and alloying metals are loaded into an electric arc furnace. Once in the furnace, the metal is heated to a specific temperature above its melting point, usually in excess of 2800°F.
Forming
Most cast steel is formed by hot rolling—the slab, bloom, or billet is heated and passed through large rollers, stretching out the steel into a longer, thinner form.
Heat Treatment
Heat treatment strengthens rolled steel by recrystallizing the deformed microstructure. Most steel is heat treated by annealing.
Cutting or Machining
Steel is cut to a specified shape and size. The steel can be sheared with circular knives, sawed with high-speed blades, or blanked with punches.
Finishing
Steels can be made with a wide variety of surface finishes. The chosen surface finish is not purely aesthetic. The type of finish is determined by the intended application.
