ASTM A350 Carbon Steel LF2/LF3 Bars are premium carbon steel bars manufactured to meet the stringent demands of various industrial applications. Formed or rolled from carbon steel with low carbon content (typically less than 0.25), they boast superior weldability, formability, strength, toughness and resilience while meeting cryogenic service temperatures without melting under stress. Their designation "LF2/LF3" signifies low-temperature service suitability making these ideal candidates for cryogenic environments.
ASTM A350 Carbon Steel LF2 Bars stand out for their exceptional mechanical properties, such as high tensile strength, strong yield strength and impressive impact resistance - even at lower temperatures - making them suitable for applications where reliability and performance in adverse conditions is crucial.
LF3 bars not only possess excellent mechanical properties, but they also possess exceptional corrosion resistance, making them well suited to use in marine and chemical processing industries. Their long-term corrosion resistance ensures durability and reliability thereby cutting maintenance costs and increasing operational efficiency.
ASTM A350 Carbon Steel LF2 Bars stand out as being both flexible and strong - essential characteristics in modern production environments. They can easily be machined, welded and fabricated into various components allowing greater design freedom for construction projects of various kinds such as manufacturing valves fittings flanges for oil/gas/petrochemical/power generation industries or providing strength to components with bearing surfaces on multiple axis of rotation LF3 bars provide both strength and reliability.
These bars find widespread applications across industries that rely heavily on low-temperature performance and corrosion resistance as essential requirements, including those dealing with petroleum products such as pipeline valves and fittings fabrication as well as storage tank construction in oil and gas production operations. They often see use when fabricating valves and fittings to be fitted on pipelines for pipeline transport or tank storage purposes requiring strict anticorrosive properties and extreme environmental conditions to withstand.
ASTM A350 Carbon Steel LF2 Bars have proven invaluable in the petrochemical industry for use in pressure vessels, reactors and heat exchangers, offering outstanding resistance against chemical compounds as well as high pressure environments.
These ASTM A350 Carbon Steel LF2 Round Bars have become staples of power generation for producing turbine components like shafts and rotor assemblies due to their strength, fatigue resistance and low temperature toughness properties. Furthermore, they're widely utilized in cryogenic storage tanks designed to store LNG or other cryogenic fluids and ensure structural integrity by adhering to low temperature toughness requirements.

Melting and Casting
Steel and alloying metals are loaded into an electric arc furnace. Once in the furnace, the metal is heated to a specific temperature above its melting point, usually in excess of 2800°F.
Forming
Most cast steel is formed by hot rolling—the slab, bloom, or billet is heated and passed through large rollers, stretching out the steel into a longer, thinner form.
Heat treatment
Heat treatment strengthens rolled Carbon Steel by recrystallizing the deformed microstructure. Most Carbon Steel is heat treated by annealing.
Descaling
A rolled piece of Carbon Steel acquires a layer of oxidized “mill scale,” which needs to be washed away to restore a shiny surface finish.
Cutting or Machining
Carbon Steel is cut to a specified shape and size. The Carbon Steel can be sheared with circular knives, sawed with high-speed blades, or blanked with punches.
