Cupro Nickel 90/10 bars are an alloy composed of 90% copper and 10% nickel, providing it with unique properties that make them applicable across industries. One such key feature of these alloy bars is their excellent corrosion-resistance in seawater environments - an attribute which makes these bars particularly suitable for marine applications like shipbuilding, offshore oil rigs, desalination plants etc.
Cupro Nickel 90/10 bars display excellent mechanical properties, such as high tensile strength and malleability, their combination allows for simple fabrication and shaping processes that make these bars suitable for manufacturing processes of all sorts. They also boast exceptional thermal conductivity which makes them suitable for heat exchangers/condensers that rely on efficient heat transference for proper functioning.
Cupro Nickel 90/10 bars stand out due to their resistance to biofouling - or accumulation of microorganisms, algae and marine organisms on surfaces immersed in water - making them perfect for use in components like piping systems and heat exchangers in marine environments where biofouling could result in reduced efficiency or higher maintenance requirements.
Cupro Nickel 90/10 bars have become an invaluable commodity across industries including marine applications, chemical processing, power generation and auto manufacturing. Their corrosion resistance paired with their ability to withstand extreme temperatures and pressure makes these bars well suited for equipment exposed to tough operating environments.
Cupro Nickel 90/10 bars are also known for their antimicrobial properties, which help combat bacteria and fungus growth on surfaces. This makes them suitable for medical equipment, food processing machinery and HVAC systems where maintaining clean environments is of utmost importance.

Melting and Casting
Steel and alloying metals are loaded into an electric arc furnace. Once in the furnace, the metal is heated to a specific temperature above its melting point, usually in excess of 2800°F.
Forming
Most cast steel is formed by hot rolling—the slab, bloom, or billet is heated and passed through large rollers, stretching out the steel into a longer, thinner form.
Heat treatment
Heat treatment strengthens rolled Cupro Nickel by recrystallizing the deformed microstructure. Most Cupro Nickel is heat treated by annealing.
Descaling
A rolled piece of Cupro Nickel acquires a layer of oxidized “mill scale,” which needs to be washed away to restore a shiny surface finish.
Cutting or Machining
Cupro Nickel is cut to a specified shape and size. The Cupro Nickel can be sheared with circular knives, sawed with high-speed blades, or blanked with punches.
