Inconel 800 bars are high-performance nickel-chromium alloy bars known for their exceptional resistance to oxidation, corrosion, and high temperatures. They exhibit superb strength and stability even in harsh environments, making them ideal for applications in aerospace, chemical processing, and furnace components. With a composition primarily comprising nickel, chromium, and iron, these bars offer excellent mechanical properties and durability.
Inconel 800 Bars are known for their exceptional corrosion resistance, making them suitable for use in harsh environments such as chemical processing, nuclear power generation and aerospace industries. Inconel 800 bars resist both oxidation and carburization at elevated temperatures which makes this alloy particularly well suited to these industries.
Inconel 800 Bars present some difficulties for machine tool operators due to their high strength and work hardening rate, yet effective machining can still be accomplished using appropriate tooling and techniques, leading to precise fabrication of parts or components.
Inconel 800 Bars play an essential part in weldability. While their alloy provides outstanding weldability, specific procedures and filler materials must be utilized to create sound weld joints and minimize risk. Preheating and post-weld heat treatment treatments may also be needed in order to minimize cracking risks while protecting material properties.
Inconel 800 Bars can be found across numerous industries in components exposed to extreme temperatures and corrosion conditions - furnace components, heat exchangers, chemical processing equipment and gas turbine components are some examples. Their combination of strength, oxidation resistance and thermal stability make Inconel 800 bars essential in such demanding operating conditions.
Inconel 800 Bars have become an essential element in aerospace engineering for manufacturing jet engine components such as combustion chambers and thrust reversers, in the chemical processing industry for reactors, piping systems and heat exchangers that handle highly acidic chemicals; additionally they find use as power generation gas turbine components and steam turbine seals, where their resistance to oxidation and thermal stability are highly valued features.

Melting and Casting
Steel and alloying metals are loaded into an electric arc furnace. Once in the furnace, the metal is heated to a specific temperature above its melting point, usually in excess of 2800°F.
Forming
Most cast steel is formed by hot rolling—the slab, bloom, or billet is heated and passed through large rollers, stretching out the steel into a longer, thinner form.
Heat treatment
Heat treatment strengthens rolled Inconel by recrystallizing the deformed microstructure. Most Inconel is heat treated by annealing.
Descaling
A rolled piece of Inconel acquires a layer of oxidized “mill scale,” which needs to be washed away to restore a shiny surface finish.
Cutting or Machining
Inconel is cut to a specified shape and size. The Inconel can be sheared with circular knives, sawed with high-speed blades, or blanked with punches.
